No.
Shrimp do not create beautiful fibers, they are terrible knitters, and getting eight little arms through a Magic Loop lesson sounds like an HR situation I do not need.
Shrimp and Knits is a play on the beloved Southern classic Shrimp and Grits. We’re in the Low Country. We love yarn. One thing led to another, and now I spend a surprising amount of time explaining that we are not a restaurant.
We do, however, have our very own espresso bar, One More Row Coffee Co., with amazing coffee, espresso drinks, and snacks to fuel your fiber habit. So technically, you can come here hungry. Just don’t arrive expecting cocktail sauce.
The only shrimp on the premises is Coraline, our shop mascot, and she has been instructed not to get anywhere near the espresso machine.
Low Country Shrimp and Knits is a premier yarn shop in Bluffton, South Carolina, just outside Hilton Head Island. We specialize in gorgeous yarn, fun classes for every age, ability, and fiber habit, notions you suddenly cannot imagine living without, and, if the name hasn’t already tipped you off, we go for the laugh.
We know our yarn. We know our craft. We take both very seriously.
Ourselves? Considerably less so.
We’re knowledgeable without being pretentious, helpful without hovering, and fully supportive of whatever questionable series of decisions resulted in you starting another project when you already have six at home.
