Beginner Knitting: Apparently Grandma Was Onto Something
Did a family member try to teach you to knit once and now you experience a small trauma response every time you see a ball of yarn?
It’s not that you can’t knit. It’s that learning from someone you’re related to can occasionally end in therapy.
So let’s try this again.
Knitting is cool again. Actually, Grandma would probably argue that it never stopped being cool. And now that everyone is rediscovering the joy of hobbies that don’t require a charger, it’s the perfect time to learn.
This class is designed for absolute beginners. No experience. No expectations. No one grabbing the needles out of your hands and saying, “Here, just let me do it.”
We’ll start at the very beginning and teach you how to cast on, work the knit stitch, understand what’s happening on your needles, and get comfortable turning yarn into actual fabric. If everyone is cruising along, we may even introduce the purl stitch.
You’ll also discover why people have been knitting for generations: it keeps your hands busy, gives your brain something satisfying to focus on, and produces something considerably more useful than another hour of scrolling.
Your class fee includes:
- Two hours of hands-on instruction
- Knitting needles
- One skein of yarn
- Everything you need to officially become Someone Who Knits
