That is so sad! You deserve happiness and fine things. Cast on a new project, the most squishy yarn, fun notions and instruction books, some new skills and fiber friends with a class... Plus, this habit is much better for your teeth than crack.

Kitchener Stitch Mini Tool

(Grafting, but make it less terrifying.)

The Kitchener stitch is knitting’s version of surgery. Precise, important, and absolutely not something you want to freestyle. This Mini Tool keeps the steps right in front of you so your sock toes, mitten tops, and sweater seams come out smooth instead of… emotionally complex.

Set-Up:

  • Purlwise through first stitch on the front needle, leave it on

  • Knitwise through first stitch on the back needle, leave it on

Then repeat this rhythm like a mantra:

  1. Front stitch knitwise, slip off

  2. Next front stitch purlwise, leave on

  3. Back stitch purlwise, slip off

  4. Next back stitch knitwise, leave on

Repeat steps 1–4 until all stitches are grafted and you feel powerful.

That’s it. No guessing. No pausing to Google “did I just ruin this?” halfway through.

Why You’ll Love This Tool

  • Keeps the Kitchener steps handy when your brain has checked out

  • Perfect for socks, mittens, cuffs, and anything else that needs an invisible finish

  • Clips right onto your project bag so it’s there exactly when panic sets in

  • Ideal for beginners, refreshers, and knitters who know this stitch but also very much don’t

  • Product Details

  • Material: Domestic cherry hardwood

  • Approximate size: 2.5” x 2.5” x 3/16”

Because these are made from natural wood, each one is slightly unique. Much like your tension during grafting.

Basically, this tool lets you Kitchener with confidence, calm, and fewer whispered threats directed at your yarn. 🧶
