Karabella Aurora 8 is a beautifully saturated, high-end Italian merino with the kind of rich, brilliant color that makes you start mentally rearranging your project queue. Made in Italy from 100% extra fine merino wool, it has the softness you expect from a luxury merino with a smooth, polished finish that lets those colors do all the talking.
And then there are the eight plies. Aurora 8's multi-ply construction creates a wonderfully round, substantial strand with excellent stitch definition while also helping prevent the yarn from splitting as you work. Cables, texture, ribbing, colorwork? This yarn understood the assignment.
You'll also see "Wool Irrestringibile" on the label. Despite sounding like either an Italian opera or something you should order with a glass of wine, it means the wool has been treated to resist felting and shrinkage. Aurora 8 can be machine washed cold, although we're still going to recommend handwashing because you've just spent hours making something beautiful and we're not interested in testing fate.
