It finally happened.
We took two things people love — yarn and accusing perfectly innocent people of murder based on extremely limited information — and turned them into an afternoon.
Welcome to Unraveled Alibis: A Murder Mystery Yarn Tasting.
Someone is dead.
Everyone has an alibi.
And unfortunately for our suspects, the yarn has evidence.
This is part murder mystery, part yarn tasting, and part very serious investigation conducted by people holding knitting needles and crochet hooks.
You’ll spend the event working your way through a completely original murder mystery written by Tracy, meeting the suspects, examining the evidence, and actually knitting or crocheting with the yarn connected to each suspect.
Because apparently we no longer believe simply touching yarn is enough.
🔎 Here’s how it works:
When you arrive, you’ll be introduced to the crime, the victim, and our cast of suspicious characters.
Each suspect will be represented by a different mystery yarn in our official Yarn Suspect Lineup.
You’ll work your way through the suspects, trying each yarn while learning more about the person connected to it.
As the investigation unfolds, you’ll:
-
Meet each suspect
-
Knit or crochet with their yarn
-
Examine clues and evidence
-
Keep track of suspicious behavior
-
Decide whose story you believe
-
Develop completely unreasonable theories
-
Change your mind at least twice
And somewhere along the way, the yarn itself may tell you something.
Or you may just really like it.
Both are important discoveries.
🧶 The Yarn Suspect Lineup
Every suspect has been paired with a different yarn.
You won’t know what the yarns are when the investigation begins. You’ll judge them entirely by what’s in front of you: how they feel, how they behave, and whether you think they’re capable of murder.
You’ll knit or crochet a small sample with each one while recording your observations in your official case file.
Think of it as forensic fiber analysis.
Is that a real thing?
It is now.
At the end of the investigation, we’ll reveal the identities of the yarns along with the solution to the murder.
Which means you could discover that your favorite suspect is a murderer.
Or worse.
A yarn you need in sweater quantity.
🕵️ What’s included:
-
An original murder mystery written by Tracy
-
A cast of suspicious characters with questionable alibis
-
A curated lineup of mystery yarns to knit or crochet
-
Your official Unraveled Alibis Case File for recording clues, suspects, yarn impressions, and accusations
-
Evidence and clues revealed throughout the event
-
Snacks and beverages because solving a murder on an empty stomach seems irresponsible
-
The final yarn reveal
-
The solution to the crime
-
The opportunity to purchase any yarns you become emotionally attached to during the investigation
-
Lively commentary from Tracy, who knows exactly who committed the murder and will be absolutely insufferable about it
🧶 What to bring:
Bring your own knitting needles or crochet hook. We’ll let you know the recommended size before the event based on the final suspect lineup.
You should know the basics of knitting or crochet, including casting on/chaining and working a basic stitch.
This is not a knitting or crochet class.
You do not need to be an expert.
You do, however, need to be prepared to make accusations with very little evidence.
What to expect:
-
You will immediately distrust someone
-
You will become emotionally invested in at least one suspect
-
You will probably accuse an innocent person
-
You will judge yarn based on circumstantial evidence
-
Someone at your table will develop an elaborate theory that makes absolutely no sense
-
You may discover a yarn you never would have tried otherwise
-
You will laugh
-
And one of you may actually solve the murder
We will support you through all of it.
We will not, however, provide legal representation.
🏆 At the end of the investigation...
Everyone will submit their official accusation before the murderer is revealed.
Then we’ll find out who correctly identified the killer — and who spent the entire event confidently investigating someone who had absolutely nothing to do with it.
There may be prizes.
There will definitely be bragging rights.
And then we reveal the Yarn Suspect Lineup, so you can finally learn what you’ve been knitting or crocheting with all afternoon.
Which is when the second investigation begins:
How much yarn can you reasonably purchase without attracting suspicion?
The important part:
This is not a class.
This is not a traditional yarn tasting.
And this is definitely not one of those murder mystery dinners where you discover upon arrival that you are expected to perform a British accent in front of strangers.
This is a fully interactive yarn mystery experience.
You’ll knit.
You’ll crochet.
You’ll investigate.
You’ll accuse people.
You’ll discover new yarn.
And by the end of the event, we’ll find out who among you has excellent instincts...
and who should never be placed on a jury.
🔎 CASES ARE LIMITED.
Because too many suspects + too much yarn + snacks + amateur detectives = an investigation we are not prepared to explain to the authorities.
Reserve your place in the investigation.
The yarn is waiting to be questioned.
Saturday: March 6th from 1-4 pm
Our last yarn tasting sold out and had a long waiting list. Don't miss your chance at this fun fiber event!
