That is so sad! You deserve happiness and fine things. Cast on a new project, the most squishy yarn, fun notions and instruction books, some new skills and fiber friends with a class... Plus, this habit is much better for your teeth than crack.

Soft Current KAL: A Little Lace. A Little Cable. A Lot of Pretty.

Some knitting projects are all about mindless stockinette and watching Netflix.

This is not that project.

Join us for our next Knit Along featuring Wool & Pine’s Soft Current, a gorgeous DK-weight design with just enough going on to keep your needles entertained: lace, cables, short rows, beautiful shaping, and those little finishing details that make people ask, “Wait. You MADE that?”

And you have options.

Make the Soft Current Tee for a beautiful short-sleeved version you can wear practically year-round, or make the Soft Current Sweater and embrace the sleeves. Same gorgeous design. Different levels of arm commitment.

Soft Current is worked seamlessly from the top down, beginning at the shoulders with short-row shaping that creates its smooth, flattering V-neckline. Lace and cable panels sweep over the shoulders and flow down both the front and back, giving you plenty to keep things interesting without turning your knitting into a full-contact sport.

The back lace motif is thoughtfully scaled across the size range, too, so the design stays balanced and beautifully proportioned no matter which size you make. Because “just make the lace bigger and hope for the best” is apparently not an acceptable design strategy.

Throughout the KAL, we’ll work through the pattern together, including the lace, cables, short rows, shaping, construction, and finishing, plus those inevitable moments when you hold up your knitting, squint at it, and ask the group:

“Does this look right to you?”

That’s what Knit Alongs are for.

This KAL is perfect for knitters who are comfortable with the basics and ready to add a few more techniques to their knitting toolbox. You do not need to walk in already knowing how to do everything in the pattern. We’ll tackle it together.

Choose your tee or sweater. Pick your yarn. Grab your needles.

A little lace. A little cable. A lot of pretty.

Let’s cast on.
