Ready to knit your first sweater—but want guidance every step of the way? This multi-session class breaks the Step-by-Step Sweater down into manageable, confidence-building stages so you can enjoy the process and actually finish your garment.
Designed for beginner knitters who are comfortable with the basics, this series focuses on understanding why you’re doing each step, not just following instructions. You’ll learn essential sweater-knitting skills you can use again and again.
Class Breakdown
-
Class 1:
Get oriented with the pattern, talk yarn and needle choices, and learn how (and why) to swatch. -
Class 2:
Measure your swatch, choose the correct size, cast on at the neckline, and join to knit in the round. -
Class 3:
Learn and practice raglan increases while working through the yoke. -
Class 4:
Split for sleeves and continue knitting the sweater body. -
Class 5:
Bind off the body, pick up the sleeves, and learn finishing and blocking techniques to make your sweater shine.
By the end of the series, you’ll have a handmade sweater, a deeper understanding of garment construction, and the confidence to tackle future sweater projects on your own. Cozy, empowering, and totally doable—this is sweater knitting, step by step.
