Huichol Yarn painting comes from the Huichol (pronounced "wee chol") Indian people who live in Western Mexico in the Sierra Madres. The yarn paintings traditionally depict their myths and ceremonies. We will make a Low Country Shrimp and Knits version of this! Kids will glue yarn over an outlined picture of an octopus. They can be as colorful and creative as they can dream up!
This class is designed for children ages 6 and up. They will need to wear something that can get messy because we will be using eleventy five pounds of glue (as kids do).
INSTRUCTOR: Lena Winslow and Emmeline Winslow
WHEN: July 6th from 3-5pm
Minimum of 3 participants. Class fee is $50 and includes all materials.
Please arrive at Low Country Shrimp and Knits 10 minutes before the start of class. All classes will begin promptly at the scheduled time. Review Low Country Shrimp and Knits' full class policies at the bottom of the Classes and Events page before registering.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an in-person, drop-off class. If your child is not ready for a drop-off class, ask us about private lessons instead.
