Having fun with your knit stitch but you want to actually finish something!?! This class is for you!!
In this second beginner class, we will review how to purl if needed and then extend your skills to include reading ball band and talking about gauge. Increasing and decreasing your fabric will be taught as well as binding off. Other skills relating to Sophie scarf will also be addressed as they arise.
While it is fun to knit rectangles... it is way more fun to bring more shaping into your knits and open up so many more possibilities!
Best for: Beginner Knitters who know the knit stitch and have dabbled in the purl stitch.
Instructor: Tracy Winslow, Owner of Low Country Shrimp and Knits
Class Date: Saturday March 22nd, 1pm-3pm
Bring in some yarn and needles to swatch and learn. If you desire to start a new project specifically to learn these new skills (and a few more like making i-cord), plan on working on the Sophie Scarf by PetiteKnit.
Please arrive at Low Country Shrimp and Knits 10 minutes before the start of class, with materials in hand. All classes will begin promptly at the scheduled time.
Class fee: $50 for a 2-hour in-person session. Then when you have any questions, you make an appointment to get additional support so the project is at your own pace. Any purchases made for and during the class will receive 10% off!
Project is best for: beginner knitters
Yarn: DK weight yarn
Yardage: 101 - 140 yards (92 - 128 m). Please note that yardage is estimated, and can vary between knitters and yarn used.
