Knit and crochet a fun and in-style sweater from local designer Barbara Wanthal. This is a very easy sweater to knit. The body can be knit top down or bottom up. The sleeves are crocheted granny squares and allow you to personalize your garment and have fun with color.
In this first class, come to class with a washed and blocked swatch of your chosen yarn that is at least 4" X 4" so that you can confirm gauge and needle size is correct. During class, you'll cast on and disucss the sweater features and techniques.

Class fee: $50 for a 2-hour in-person session. Then when you have any questions, you make an appointment to get additional support so the project is at your own pace. Any purchases made for and during the class will receive 10% off!
Project is best for: Crafters who know how to knit & purl stitches. This could be your first sweater if you are a confident beginner. You will be taught to crochet granny squares in the second class.
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn
Yardage: 1239 - 1757 yards (1133 - 1607 m) Please note that yardage is estimated, and can vary between knitters and yarn used.
For project-based classes we require your yarn to be purchased at Shrimp and Knits with a 10% discount in advance of the class.
Needle and Hook: US 4 - 3.5 mm 24" or 32" circular needle and 4.0 mm (G) hook (OR SIZE TO GET GAUGE)
Notions: Stitch Marker, waste yarn, tapestry needle, scissors
Pattern Information: You must purchase Box Top Goes Square before you come to class
Gauge: 24 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches
Note- You should always knit your swatch the same way that the pattern is knit.
