Too hot to think about knitting sweaters and scarves?!? Time to knit socks! They are light, portable and won't sit in your lap making you hot this summer. This class is designed for people who want to try socks and need the right project to get started. Come and pick some fun yarns to make this simple and lovely sock!
These socks feature:
- twisted rib cuff
- 3x1 ribbing
- jogless striping
- contrast heels, toe & cuff
- shadow wrap heel (short rows)
- stockinette
- wedge toe
- Kitchener stitch toe closure

Class Date: June 7th, 10am - 12 noon
Please arrive at Low Country Shrimp and Knits 10 minutes before the start of class, with materials in hand. All classes will begin promptly at the scheduled time.
Class fee: $50 for a 2-hour in-person session. Then when you have any questions, you make an appointment to get additional support so the project is at your own pace. Any purchases made for and during the class will receive 10% off!
Project is best for: Knitters who know how to cast on, knit and purl. Those who want to learn how to knit in the round and start a new sock obsession!
Yarn: Sock yarn
Yardage: 463 yards/100g sock weight yarn MC and 100 yd CC contrasting color for stripes and heel.
Please note that yardage is estimated, and can vary between knitters and yarn used.
For project-based classes we require your yarn to be purchased at Shrimp and Knits with a 10% discount in advance of the class.
Needles: US 1.5 - 2.5mm suggested. You'll need a set of double pointed needles or two circulars to knit in the round. Flexi-flips are also an option!
Notions: Stitch Marker, tapestry needle, scissors - whatever is in your notions bag!

Gauge: 32 stitches/44 rows in stockinette
Note- You should always knit your swatch the same way that the pattern is knit.
